If you don't completely understand the formation of a solution, here is a diagram to help. My diagram will show you how particles of sugar are soluble in a liquid substance
and thoroughly dissolved to make a solution. To aid dissolving I increased the temperature of the water and stirred. I could also have crushed the particles some more to aid dissolving.

You mentioned three ways to speed up dissolving they were stirring, heating and crushing.
